Erin-Marie McCord (owner/instructor) Erin started dancing at the age of 4 and ever since has dreamed of owning her own dance studio. Growing up she took classes in Jazz, Tap and Ballet taking her BATD examinations every year. She became a teaching assistant at the age of 15 and it wasn’t long until she took her first professional exam. Erin has taken 3 professional BATD exams, in Stage (Modern and Tap), Ballet and Jazz receiving scores in the 90’s for all three. Erin is constantly upgrading her own skills and teaching abilities by attending classes and workshops every year. She has taken classes from Emmy Award winning choreographers Mia Michaels, Tyce Dioro and Wade Robson as well as So You think You Can Dance Canada Winners Nico Archambault and Tara-Jean Popowich, and So You Think You Can Dance US winner Lauren Froderman. She has also attended classes from many other familiar So You Think You Can Dance dancers such as Amy Gardiner, Randi-Lyn Evans, Jayme-Rae Dailey, Lara Smythe, Miles Faber, Lauren Gottlieb, Dominic (D-Trix) Sandoval, Kathryn McKormick, Amanda Cleghorn and Bree Wasylenko. It is Erin’s goal to strive to be the best teacher she can be, and owning Erin’s Dance Club has been a dream come true for her!
Courtney Stone (instructor) Courtney is a 17-year-old student, choreographer, and instructor at EDC. She has had 12 years of dance training and has attended multiple workshops taught by dancers such as Tara-Jean Popowich, Miles Faber, and the Tap Dogs. Courtney has taken all of her BATD dance exams up to Premier Award Jazz, British Award Tap and British Award Ballet and was twice chosen to try out for the BATD Tap Scholarships in Toronto. She has been choreographing for dance camps and other small routines for over 4 years and started teaching ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and technique classes full-time in 2010. In April 2011, Courtney helped the EDC Competitive team win a number of awards with ‘After Hours’ – including a 1st Place Overall Award, a Judge’s Choice Award and a Teacher Choreography Award. She is happy to share her passion for dance with her students and loves seeing the improvements in all of them. She hopes that in the future she will be able to inspire young dancers to take advantage of every opportunity to do what they love, to be ready to take on new challenges, and to keep moving towards their very own masterpiece with confidence. Courtney is also a musician and enjoys playing guitar and writing/recording her own music in her spare time.
